Stayed at Island Vibe for one night as a group of 8 - recommended by Jeff (Kwantu)
Awesome location right on the beach, with beautiful scenery to wake up to in the morning.
Comfy beds and great selection of breakfast choice
Fun bar and chill out area
Friendly staff - even if they did beat us at beer pong!
From a warm welcome and a tour around the house to a hug goodbye - Island Vibe made me feel very much at home!
The location is incredible, right at the beach, overlooking the dunes and you literally wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
It's the place to be for surfing and lessons are offered daily at very affordable prices. If you can already surf, wetsuits and boards can be rented as well and you just have to walk down the beach to catch your next wave.
The dorms were clean and had lockers, there's a restaurant offering good breakfast, lunch and dinner and a bar to hang out at night. All in all I had a wonderful time at Island Vibe in Jeffrey's Bay! :-)
My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago and had a great time. The staff are very friendly and help to keep a good vibe. Its ideally located next to the beach especially great for surfers. . Lauren, the owner, was also extremely accommodating to us. We had a great time and will be back.
Awsome staff, close to the beach, great place to stay when you want to surf and have a night life with people, the food, hospitality, people are great, specially in the evenings, the view from the vibe back packers is also awsome
Little gem hidden on the west side of Jeffrey's Bay. Has clean dorm rooms. The double rooms spacious and accommodating. There is a central kitchen with cooking and tea making facilities - great for meeting others. There is a great bar which gets quite lively on an evening.
Surfing lessons are conducted from here - very good, just remember that it can be very cold so prepare!
Planned to stay here for four nights and ended up staying six. It is right on the beach and only a ten min walk along the beach to the centre. Charmaine in reception was so friendly and helpful! Thanks for all the leaflets and stickers for our scrapbook! Would stay here again!!
I have stayed here for two weeks, and I plan to extend my stay to at least one month. Most people who come here do the same because it's so much fun. You are right on the beach and next to the excellent surf spot of Kitchen Windows. Supertubes and other spots are only a short drive away. A cab there costs about $5USD, so you really don't need a car.
There's a restaurant that serves three courses throughout the day. The food is good and very reasonably priced. There are surf lessons twice per day, and there's plenty of backpackers passing through. It's by far the most fun hostel in Jeffery's Bay, and the prices make it a great value.
Jeffreys Bay is an obvious choice for surfers, being Africa’s surf capital and your ideal all year surf destination. Plus there are perfect breaks in the area for all grades of surfers. Supertubes is the most famous break, and while not the ideal wave to surf unless you are very sure of yourself, it definitely is worth watching others rip their stuff.
